Man Facing Multiple Charges After Rural Paullina Incident

Paullina, Iowa — A Bondurant, Iowa man was arrested following an incident at a rural Paullina residence Monday morning.

According to court records, 42-year-old Jeremiah Jason Kahoe allegedly went to the home of someone against whom he has been accused of committing domestic assault on previous occasions. Deputies say the victim was at home at the time, and Kahoe allegedly kicked in the door to the victim’s residence while she was trying to hold it shut. After allegedly gaining entry into the residence, deputies say Kahoe threw a glass picture at the woman, missing her. Authorities say when the victim retreated to the home’s bedroom, Kahoe is accused of pushing his way into the bedroom before fleeing the residence. According to court records, the victim reported some minor injuries, but declined medical attention.

As a result of the alleged incident, court records indicate that Kahoe was charged with: 3rd Degree Burglary, a Class D Felony; 2nd Offense Domestic Abuse Assault, an Aggravated Misdemeanor; 5th Degree Criminal Mischief, a Simple Misdemeanor; and Violation of a No Contact or Protective Order, also a Simple Misdemeanor.

According to online court records, a Preliminary Hearing in the case is scheduled for Friday, April 1st at 3:30pm in O’Brien County Magistrate Court. No trial date has been set.
