Man From Royal Accused Of Sexually Assaulting A Child

Spencer, Iowa– An investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a child has resulted in the arrest of a Royal man.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the Emergency Room of Spencer Hospital back on August 13th of this year for a report of a four-year-old child who had allegedly been sexually assaulted.

A news release says 30-year-old Galvin Nelson of Royal was arrested Tuesday of last week and was charged with two counts of sexual abuse in the 2nd degree, a class B felony. If convicted of a class B felony, Nelson could face up to 25 years in prison.
