Hartley, Iowa– A Sanborn man was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital after an accident near Hartley on Saturday, October 7, 2023.
The Iowa State Patrol reports that at about 10:40 a.m., 61-year-old Jeffrey Gerritson of Sanborn was driving a 2009 Ram pickup eastbound on 310th Street, a mile north of Hartley and three west. They tell us that 55-year-old Kevin Gonnerman of Sanborn was northbound on Tanager Avenue in a 2011 GMC Sierra.
The report says that Gerritson allegedly failed to yield to Gonnerman at the uncontrolled intersection.
Gonnerman was transported to Sanford Sheldon Hospital and flown to Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. His injuries were termed “serious.”
The trooper’s report says the crash remains under investigation.
