Mankato Man Injured In Single-Vehicle Rollover Crash Near Archer

O’Brien County, Iowa — A Mankato man was injured about 7:15 Sunday morning in a crash that took place on Nettle Avenue, southwest of Archer.

According to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, 20-year-old Colin Ray Davis of Mankato was southbound on Nettle Avenue in a 2007 Toyota Camry when he crossed the center line and drove on the opposite shoulder before over-correcting and entering the west ditch, rolling the car a total of three times before coming to rest in a newly-planted cornfield.

Davis was traveling from Mankato to Anthon, Iowa at the time of the crash, and reportedly told deputies that he believed he had fallen asleep prior to the mishap, but allegedly admitted to drinking alcohol and consuming THC wax before leaving Mankato. Deputies say a urine specimen was collected from Davis and forwarded to the DCI Laboratory for chemical testing.

Davis was taken by the Primghar Ambulance to the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center for treatment of a broken arm and deep laceration to his hand.

Davis was reportedly cited for Failure to Maintain Control. His Toyota was deemed a total loss.
