Paullina, Iowa — A Marcus man faces up to five years in prison after he is alleged to have failed to comply with sex offender registration requirements.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that 27-year-old Dillon James Leach of Marcus was charged with a Sex Offender Registration Violation — Second or Subsequent Offense, a Class “D” Felony.
According to the arresting deputy, Leach failed to appear at the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office to register employment and notify of an address change within the five-business-day requirement. Court documents allege Leach moved out of a rural address northwest of Paullina and did not notify or register out of O’Brien County. It says he also did not notify of the end of employment.
If he is convicted, Leach could face a prison term of up to five years in prison and a fine of between $750 and $7500.
