Milford Couple Seriously Injured In Single-Vehicle Crash

Milford, Iowa – A Milford couple were seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash near Okoboji High School shortly after midnight Friday morning.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban was westbound on 9th Street, about two blocks east of Okoboji High School in Milford, when the SUV left the roadway to the left, began to skid and jumped the northwest curb at the intersection of 9th Street and K Avenue and struck a tree before striking the house at 901 K Avenue.

Troopers say they have no idea who was driving the SUV at the time of the crash, because both 35-year-old Rodney Allen and 35-year-old Sasha Allen, both of Milford, were ejected from the vehicle. Troopers say neither Allen was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the mishap.

According to troopers, Rodney Allen was airlifted to Avera Sioux Falls by Avera Care Flight. Sasha Allen was taken to the Spencer Hospital by the Spirit Lake Ambulance.

The crash remains under investigation.
