OC Police Arrest Two On Felony Forgery Warrants

Orange City, Iowa — The Orange City Police Department has recently arrested two people on warrants, who allegedly committed similar felony crimes in June.

According to court records, the police arrested 37-year-old Andrew Yourkoski and 36-year-old Erica Sams, both of Oakland, Nebraska on warrants for felony forgery and other misdemeanor charges.

Court records say that on June 17th, both of them entered Bomgaars in Orange City and bought several items, using two separate checks that did not belong to them, and without authorization from the owners. Both defendants are accused of filling out the checks and forging each owner’s name on the owners’ checks as if they were their own names.

Yourkoski and Sams were both charged with forgery, a class D felony; and a misdemeanor charge of identity theft. In addition, Sams was also charged with a misdemeanor count of fourth-degree theft.

Both face preliminary hearings in their cases on Tuesday, August 13th.
