Sibley Man Faces Felony Forgery Charges

Sheldon, Iowa — A Sibley man has been arrested on a warrant charging him with a felony offense in regard to two incidents that happened in June and early July.

Court records indicate that 31-year-old Troy Duskin of Sibley is accused of entering the North Star Community Credit Union in Sheldon on June 18th and presenting a check from an individual, which was made out to Duskin, in the amount of $550. Another document accuses him of presenting another check from the same individual, also at North Star Community Credit Union, this time in the amount of $560, on July 3rd. Police say they checked with the owner of the checks, and they said they did not write out the checks to Duskin, and the signature was not theirs.

The Sheldon Police Department charged Duskin with two counts of forgery, a class D felony.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that they picked up Duskin on Wednesday. At last report, he was being held in the O’Brien County Jail.

Duskin faces a preliminary hearing on the charges on Tuesday, August 13th.
