Lester, Iowa — One person was taken to a hospital by ambulance after an accident near Lester on Saturday, March 30, 2024.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 3:30 p.m., Jaydrien Albers of Sheldon was driving a 2018 Chevy westbound on 180th Street, three miles south of Lester and a mile and a half east, in the 2400 block of 180th. They say Mathias Knoblock of Rock Rapids was driving a 2012 Ford pickup, and was making a left turn out of a private driveway to head east on 180th. The two vehicles both made evasive action but basically collided head-on.
The dispatcher at the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office tells us one person was taken to Avera Merrill Pioneer Hospital in Rock Rapids by Lyon County Ambulance.
Authorities say Knoblock was charged with failure to yield upon entering through highway. The Lyon County Ambulance Squad, Lester Rescue Squad, the Lester Fire Department, and Trackside Towing assisted with the response to the accident.
