Orange City Man Taken To Sioux Falls Hospital After Crash

Sioux Center, Iowa — An Orange City man was taken to a Sioux Falls hospital as the result of a one-vehicle crash near Sioux Center in the early hours of Thanksgiving morning.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 1:15 a.m., 49-year-old Jeffery Schuller of Orange City was driving a 2005 Volvo westbound on 390th Street, two miles west of Sioux Center, when he lost control of the vehicle. They report it entered the south ditch, struck a concrete culvert and rolled. Schuller was trapped in the vehicle and was freed by members of the Sioux Center Fire Department.

The Sioux Center Ambulance took Schuller to the Sioux Center Health Hospital. He was later transported to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

The Volvo sustained about $10,000 in damage, according to the report. Deputies say the accident remains under investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that the Sioux Center Police Department, Sioux Center Fire Department, and Sioux Center Ambulance Squad assisted them with the response to the crash.
