Passenger In Hawarden Man’s Vehicle Taken To Hospital After Accident

Hawarden, Iowa — A passenger in a Hawarden man’s vehicle was taken to a hospital after an accident near Hawarden on Monday, March 25.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 5:15 p.m., 46-year-old Jesus Flores-Topete of Hawarden was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse westbound on Highway 10, one mile east of Hawarden, when he lost control of the vehicle, which entered the south ditch.

The Hawarden Ambulance Squad took the passenger to Hawarden Regional Healthcare.

They say the Chevrolet sustained about $10,000 in damage.

Flores-Topete was cited on a charge of failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle.

The sheriff’s office says the Hawarden Fire Department and the Hawarden Ambulance Squad assisted them with the response to the accident.
