Orange City, Iowa– A passenger in a Sheldon teen’s car was taken to the hospital after an accident in Orange City on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
The Orange City Police Department reports that at about 6:45 p.m., 15-year-old Aidan Roozeboom of Sheldon was driving a 2009 Buick westbound on 5th Street Northeast in Orange City. They tell us that 51-year-old Cristi Kelch of Orange City was southbound on Albany Avenue in a 2018 Chevy SUV.
The report says that Roozeboom pulled up to the stop sign but failed to yield and struck the Kelch vehicle in the intersection.
The Orange City Ambulance took a passenger in Roozeboom’s vehicle, 14-year-old Katelyn Brenneman of Orange City, to the Orange City Area Health System Hospital.
Roozeboom’s Buick sustained $6000 in damages, and Kelch’s Chevy SUV sustained $4000 in damages.
Roozeboom was charged with violation of conditions of minor’s school license and failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way.
