Semi Damaged In Construction Zone

Sibley, Iowa — A semi was damaged after it went into the ditch in a construction zone on Friday, August 11th.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office reports that at 9:30 pm on Friday, 41-year-old Gregory De Groot of Rock Rapids was driving a 2000 Kenworth Semi southbound on Highway 60 in the 2000 mile of the construction zone south of Sibley. According to the report, the semi struck the guardrail with the front right corner causing disabling damage and caused it to go into the west ditch.

The semi received $10,000 damage.

No injuries were reported.

Assisting at the scene was the Ashton Fire Department and Sibley Ambulance.
