Hull, Iowa — A semi tractor was damaged in a fire on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, near Hull.
According to Hull Fire Chief Greg Van Roekel, about 1:20 p.m., the Hull Fire Department was called to the report of a semi on fire near Rolling Hills Country Club, one mile north of Hull on K52.
The chief says the fire department saw the rear tires on fire as they approached the scene. He says they used water and foam to fight the fire.
Van Roekel says no injuries were reported.
He says the cause of the fire appeared to be a brake issue.
Chief Van Roekel reports that the damage was limited to the semi-tractor. He says the trailer was fine.
According to the chief, the firefighters who responded were on the scene for between twenty minutes and half an hour.
