Sex Offender Arrested For Being On School Property

Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon man faces criminal charges after an incident at Friday night’s Sheldon Orab Homecoming football game.

According to online court records, 42-year-old Torrence Edward Lamb is a registered sex offender, and as such is barred from being present upon the real property of a public or private elementary or secondary school without the written permission of the school administrator.

The Criminal Complaint alleges that Lamb was present at the Orab football field shortly after 6:00 Friday evening, and that he did not have written permission from the school’s administrator to be on school property.

Court records indicate that Lamb was arrested on Sunday by an O’Brien County Deputy on a charge of Failure to Comply With Sexual Registry Requirements. If convicted, Lamb could face up to two years in jail and a fine of $625 to $6250, according to the Iowa Code.
