Sheldon Boy Taken To Hospital After Moped Accident

Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon teen was taken to the hospital after an accident in Sheldon on Friday, August 21, 2020.

The Sheldon Police Department reports that about 3:35 p.m., 14-year-old Conner Klein of Sheldon was driving a 2013 Yamaha moped northbound on Washington Avenue, north of Fifth Street in north-central Sheldon.

The report says that Washington Avenue was recently seal-coated, so there was some loose rock on the side of the road. It says Klein entered the loose rock and was unable to correct to get away from the curb. It says the moped slid in the rock and struck the curb, throwing Klein off the left side of the moped, which landed on his leg, causing injuries.

The Sheldon Community Ambulance Team took Klein to Sanford Sheldon Hospital.

Klein’s Yamaha moped sustained $200 in damages.
