Sheldon Man Arrested On Probation Violation Warrant

Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon man was arrested earlier this week on a warrant for probation violation.

According to the online O’Brien County Jail Log, a Sheldon Police Officer arrested 23-year-old Steve Garnes-Collins on a warrant for Violation of Probation in connection with a case dating back to late 2019. Court records indicate Garnes-Collins was charged with multiple felonies in connection with that case.

Garnes-Collins was eventually sentenced in October of 2020 to 2-years’ probation on charges arising from that case, according to online court records.

This past Monday, March 21st, a warrant was issued for Garnes-Collins’ arrest on a probation violation charge. Sheldon Police arrested him the next day (Tuesday, March 22nd).

Online court records indicate that a Probation Revocation Hearing is scheduled for 11:00 am on Monday, April 18th.
