Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon man has been arrested on felony domestic abuse charges.
According to a criminal complaint filed with the O’Brien County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Sheldon Police Department, 35-year-old Anthony Jeffries of Sheldon is accused of assaulting a victim by pushing them in the chest. He was arrested on Thursday.
In his statement, the officer says Jeffries admitted to pushing the victim with an open hand during an argument.
Jeffries was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault. Since this would be a third conviction, this time, the offense was a class D felony. If convicted, Jeffries could face up to five years in prison.
He faces a preliminary hearing on the charge on May 8th.
At last report, Jeffries remained in the O’Brien County Jail in Primghar in lieu of bond.
