Sheriff Asks For Public’s Help in Hit-and-Run

Ireton, Iowa — The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the public’s help to find a vehicle and driver involved in a crash near Ireton on Thursday evening.

The sheriff’s office tells us that the hit-and-run crash occurred on Eagle Avenue, four miles northwest of Ireton.

They tell us that 78-year-old Donald Mulder of Ireton was driving a 2007 Chevrolet  Silverado southbound on Eagle Avenue, when an unknown make or model white pickup traveling southbound, crossed the center of the roadway, striking the Mulder pickup. The driver of the white pickup continued without reporting the accident and did not return to the accident location

Mulder reported minor injuries and declined further medical attention.

The Chevrolet sustained approximately $1,200 in damage.
