Alcester Teen Taken To Hospital, Authorities Seek Other Vehicle In Accident Near Rock Valley

Rock Valley, Iowa — An Alcester, South Dakota teen was taken to a hospital after an accident near Rock Valley on Monday night, April 15th, and authorities are seeking another vehicle involved in the accident.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 10:45 p.m., 16-year-old Wyatt Timmer of Alcester, SD, was driving a 2017 Ford Focus northbound on Chestnut Avenue, five miles east of Rock Valley, when he reports that an unknown pickup traveling southbound on Chestnut Avenue entered his lane, causing him to swerve. Timmer lost control of his vehicle, which entered the east ditch and ended up in a farm field. The unknown pickup did not stop at the scene and continued driving southbound.

The Rock Valley Ambulance took Timmer to Hegg Health Center. His injuries were described as minor.

The pickup is described as a white GM pickup with brighter headlights.

The sheriff’s office tells us the Rock Valley Police Department, Rock Valley Fire Department, and Rock Valley Ambulance Squad assisted them with the response to the accident.
