Canton, South Dakota — Details are sketchy at this time, but a shooting incident evidentially occurred just west of our area over the weekend.
According to Lt. Ben Lord with the Lincoln County, South Dakota Sheriff’s Office, deputies from their office were called to an incident at 4:40 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, October 21st.
He says that the call was to an alleged shooting at a rural address north of Canton, west of the Big Sioux River.
He tells us that at this time they believe it was a domestic situation in which the father allegedly shot his adult son at the residence. The Lieutenant says it is under investigation at this time as to exactly what happened. He says the son had serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, and he was transported to a Sioux Falls Hospital.
The father was taken into custody.
