Sioux Center Man Faces Felony Sex Offender Registration Violation Charge

Sioux Center, Iowa — A Sioux Center man faces a felony charge after an alleged sex offender registry violation.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, they arrested 22-year-old Brady DeJong-Pedersen of Sioux Center last week.

The arrest stemmed from a sex offender registry compliance check on DeJong-Pedersen’s status with the Iowa Sex Offender Registry regulations. Upon further investigation, along with additional reports received by the Sioux Center Police Department, law officers believe that DeJong-Pedersen provided false information and additionally violated terms of the Iowa Sex Offender Registry.

DeJong-Pedersen was transported to the Sioux County Jail where he was charged with second offense Iowa Sex Offender Registry Violation, a class D felony, and a misdemeanor count of providing false information for the Iowa Sex Offender Registry.

The arrest was a result of a joint investigation between the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office and the Sioux Center Police Department.

DeJong’s sex offender convictions include one as a juvenile and an incident when he was 19 in which he entered a church gym while a children’s ministry program was going on and showed explicit pictures to minors.
