Sioux Center Man Facing Third Degree Sex Abuse Charges

Sioux Center, Iowa — A Sioux Center man has been arrested on sex abuse charges regarding a minor.

According to a criminal complaint filed with the Sioux County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Sioux Center Police Department, 20-year-old Octavio Ramos Morales of Sioux Center is accused of sexual contact with a 15-year-old. He was arrested on Tuesday.

In his statement, the officer states that the victim moved in with Ramos Morales in May and they had lived together since the move. The officer says both the victim and Ramos Morales admitted that she became pregnant and was at about 21 weeks gestation as of this week.

Ramos Morales was charged with third-degree sexual abuse of a child victim four or more years younger, which is a class C felony. If convicted, he could face up to ten years in prison.

He faces a preliminary hearing on Thursday, October 12th.

At last report, Ramos Morales remained in the Sioux County Jail in Orange City in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
