Sioux Center Man, Hartley Teen Taken To Hospitals After Boyden Area Accident

Boyden, Iowa– A Sioux Center man and a Hartley teen were taken to the hospital after an accident near Boyden recently.

The Iowa State Patrol reports that 43-year-old Alfonso Morales Vicente of Sioux Center was driving a 2011 Ford eastbound on 370th Street, two miles west and five south of Boyden or a mile east of Middleburg. They tell us that 18-year-old Braden Spronk of Hartley was northbound on Jay Avenue in a 2012 Ford.

The report says that both vehicles entered the uncontrolled intersection. The trooper reports that the front of Spronk’s vehicle collided with the passenger side of Morales Vicente’s vehicle. Both vehicles came to rest in the northeast quadrant of the intersection, with Morales Vicente’s vehicle overturned and upside down.

One Boyden Ambulance took Morales Vicente to Orange City Health System Hospital. Another ambulance took Spronk to Sanford Sheldon Hospital.

Morales Vicente’s Ford sustained $8000 in damages, and Spronk’s Ford sustained $6000 in damages, totaling both vehicles.

Morales Vicente was charged with failure to yield to vehicle on the right, driving while license suspended, canceled, or revoked, and driving while license is suspended.
