Sioux County Sheriff Seeks Public’s Help In Two Cases

Orange City, Iowa — The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in two recent cases.

In the first case, they’re looking for people with any information on stolen signs. They report that on Sunday morning, March 24th, deputies investigated a report of a theft and vandalism to several traffic signposts and traffic signs in areas on 420th Street, Kingbird Avenue and Kiwi Avenue, southwest of Hospers. They report that upon further investigation, deputies discovered that someone stole a stop sign, a “dead end” sign, and attempted to remove a street signpost using a rope attached to a vehicle. Officers believe the crime likely occurred sometime Saturday night, March 23rd or Sunday morning, March 24th.

The sheriff’s office is also investigating the report of trespassing in a home in Hull. They say it’s not known exactly when it happened and could only be narrowed down to the past three months. Deputies belive that the suspect entered the home when the homeowners were away. The person’s photograph was taken by a home security system. (below)

If you have any information about these crimes or the identity of the individuals involved, you are asked to contact the sheriff’s office.
