Suspicious Vehicle Report Leads To Felony Arrest

Lyon County, Iowa — The report of a suspicious vehicle has led to the arrest of an Ellsworth, Minnesota man on multiple felony and misdemeanor drug-related charges.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says they received the report of a suspicious vehicle north of Larchwood Wednesday. According to authorities, once a Lyon County Deputy arrived on scene he conducted an investigation which allegedly found the car’s occupant, 49-year-old Lugene Rayfeal Russell, to be in possession of narcotics.

Lyon County authorities say Russell was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, which is a Class B Felony. In addition Russell was charged with Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp, which is a Class D Felony, along with Possession of Marijuana, a Serious Misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor.

Court records indicate that Russell was allegedly in possession of two separate packages of methamphetamine with a combined weight of 80-grams.

Russell was transported to the Lyon County Jail following his arrest.
