Spencer Woman Wanted On Felony Warrant Arrested In Sheldon

Sheldon, Iowa — A Spencer woman who was wanted on a felony warrant was picked up in Sheldon over the weekend.

According to the O’Brien County Arrest Log, the Sheldon Police Department arrested 50-year-old Cari Jo Bergstrom on Saturday evening on a Clay County Warrant for Theft in the Second Degree, a class D Felony.

Court records allege that from February until June 2017, while employed as a cashier at Casey’s General Store in Spencer, Bergstrom allegedly allowed customers to take merchandise from the store without paying. Records allege the cost of the merchandise was nearly $1100.

Bergstrom posted bond the next day and faces a preliminary hearing on Friday, March 2nd in Clay County District Court.
