Sprayed Slush Blamed For Monday Crash

Sheldon, Iowa — A South Sioux City, Nebraska man was injured Monday morning in a single-vehicle mishap north of Sheldon.

O’Brien County authorities report that about 7:30 Monday morning, a 2012 Mazda CX 9 crossover, driven by 30-year old Ali Mohamed of South Sioux City, was northbound on Highway 60 when a truck passed in an adjacent lane, spraying slush on Mohamed’s vehicle, making it difficult to see.

Deputies say Mohamed’s Mazda went off onto the shoulder, and ran into the east ditch due to the obstructed visibility.

Mohamed was transported to the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center by the Sheldon Community Ambulance Team.

Damage to his crossover was estimated at about $8-thousand.
