Three Go To Hospital After Alton Accident

Alton, Iowa — Three people were taken to the hospital in the aftermath of a single-vehicle rollover crash near Alton Sunday night.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, shortly before 8:30 Sunday evening, 25-year-old Samantha Murphy, of Carter Lake, was westbound on Highway 10, one eighth mile east of Alton, when she lost control of the 2000 Ford F-250 pickup she was driving, entered the south ditch and rolled.

Murphy and two passengers were reportedly injured in the crash, and taken to Orange City Area Health by the Alton Ambulance.

Deputies estimate damage to Murphy’s pickup at $15,000.

She was reportedly cited for Failure To Maintain Control of a Motor Vehicle.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Alton Ambulance, Alton Fire Department and the Orange City Police Department.
