Traffic Stop Leads To Felony Arrest

Alton, Iowa — A routine traffic stop Saturday night led to felony charges against a Sioux Center man.

Orange City Police say one of their officers stopped a minivan for speeding Saturday night on Highway 60 at Alton. Authorities say that further investigation revealed that the driver of the minivan, 21-year-old Mauricio Martin Ramos, of Sioux Center, was allegedly driving while his license was suspended and driving while barred.

In addition, officers reportedly arrested Martin Ramos for 3rd Offense OWI, which is a Class D Felony.

Online Sioux County Jail logs show that Martin Ramos remained in the Sioux County Jail as of early Monday afternoon.
