Inwood, Iowa — A trailer was damaged after it detached from the truck pulling it on Tuesday, August 1st near Inwood.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that just before 10 am on Tuesday, 63-year-old Lyle Ver Hoeven of Inwood was driving a g 2001 CFD Pstiff gravel truck pulling a pup trailer eastbound on 290th Street, 5 miles south of Inwood. According to the report, Ver Hoeven attempted to turn left onto Highway 18 when the trailer hitch failed and the trailer detached from the truck. After becoming detached, the trailer entered the east ditch and rolled.
The trailer received $18,000 damage.
No injuries were reported.
