Vandals Deface Rock Valley Bridge, Law Enforcement Seeks Information

Rock Valley, Iowa — Authorities in Rock Valley are investigating after someone painted swastika-like symbols on a trail bridge.

The Kiwanis Trail is a converted railroad right-of-way, and the converted bridge is an old railroad bridge in the northwest part of Rock Valley. The symbols appear to be swastikas, but while a Nazi swastikas’ arms are clockwise, the arms on these symbols appear to be counterclockwise.

The Rock Valley Police Department can be reached at 712-476-5716. Police officers are dispatched from the Sioux County communication center, and that number is 712-737-3307.
