Sioux Center, Iowa — A young girl is dead following a freak accident late Tuesday morning in Sioux Center.
Sioux Center Police say around 11:30 Tuesday morning emergency personnel including the Sioux Center Police Department and Sioux Center Ambulance were dispatched to a Sioux Center residence after a 7-year old girl was struck by a tree branch, which fell as she was sitting on a swing.
Authorities say the girl was transported to the Sioux Center Health Hospital, where she passed away due to her injuries.
