Estherville Woman Charged With Sutherland Check Forgeries

Sutherland, Iowa — An Estherville woman faces a felony charge following the investigation into forged checks passed at a Sutherland convenience store in November.

According to Sutherland Police, 21-year-old Nashley Craig, of Estherville, allegedly forged a check at the Sutherland Car-Go-Express on November 5th, in the amount of $155.83. She’s also accused of passing a second forged check at the business on November 15th, in the amount of $81.00.

Following an investigation, Sutherland Police filed a charge of Forgery, a Class D Felony, against Craig early last week.

Online court records indicate that a warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge and she was picked up by O’Brien County deputies on that warrant.

A Preliminary Hearing in the case is set for January 26th in O’Brien County Magistrate Court, according to online court records.
