Hawarden Police Bust Pair Of Alleged Burglars

Hawarden, Iowa — On Saturday, February 29th, the Hawarden Police Department was called to 1604 Avenue L in Hawarden for a Burglary in progress.

Upon arrival, the officers reportedly located 2 individuals that had allegedly made entry into an apartment that they had no permission to enter, and assaulted the individual inside. Authorities say the injuries that were sustained were not overly severe.

According to authorities, the following individuals were arrested and charged as follows:

Vincent Gabriel Perez-Martinez of Hull, was formally charged with Burglary 1st Degree (Class B Felony), Assault while participating in a Felony (Class C Felony), Tampering with Witness or Juror (Aggravated Misdemeanor), Criminal Mischief 5th (Simple Misdemeanor), and Interference with Official Acts (Simple Misdemeanor). His bond reportedly was set at $30,000.

Antonio Jesus Montanez of Hull, was formally charged with Burglary 1st Degree (Class B Felony), and Assault while participating in a Felony (Class C Felony). Bond was set at $25,000.

Hawarden Police remind us that all persons shall be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The charges listed above are merely allegations, and may be reviewed by the District Court of Iowa.
