Des Moines, Iowa (Radio Iowa) — A new state report indicates that about 11-thousand people were hired by Iowa businesses and government agencies during the month of June.
Cory Kelly is a spokesman for Iowa Workforce Development.
Iowa’s unemployment rate rose slightly in June, to three-point-two percent, but Kelly says there’s no correlation between the figures on unemployment in the state and the data about job gains in Iowa during June.
The report indicates Iowa factories added 16-hundred jobs in June.
