25 New Cases Of COVID Reported In 4-County Area Sunday

Northwest Iowa — New cases of COVID-19 reported in the four far-northwest Iowa counties Sunday had slowed some, compared to recent days. Twenty-five more residents of our four-county area were reported as testing positive for COVID-19 Sunday, compared to forty-eight new cases the day before.

Sunday’s report from the Iowa Department of Public Health says Sioux County added ten additional cases, bringing their total to 3886 since the pandemic began. Lyon County had an increase of two cases, bringing their total to 1086.There were nine additional cases reported in O’Brien County, bringing their total to 1381. And in Osceola County there were a total of four new cases, for a total of 557.

A total of seventy-three people have died in the four counties since the pandemic began. O’Brien County has lost thirty-two residents, Sioux County twenty-nine, Lyon County ten and Osceola County has had two deaths.

Of the 1086 Lyon County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, 669 have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 63%.
Of the 3886 Sioux County residents who tested positive, 2933 have recovered, for a rate of about 75%.
Of the 1381 O’Brien County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, 953 have recovered, for a rate of about 69%.
Of the 557 Osceola County residents who tested positive, 371 have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 67%.
