Okoboji, Iowa — A recent article on realtor.com says that a home in the lakes area is the most expensive real estate listing in Iowa.
According to the article by Claudine Zap, the state’s most expensive home is located in the municipality of Okoboji. She says, “On the market for $4.99 million, the vacation retreat was built in 2012 and first landed on the market in July for $5.25 million.”
She writes that listing agent Sam Brownlee, who is selling the home for his parents, the property’s owners, says, “A lot of properties do not come up for sale—they’re owned by families.”
Boasting 76 feet of lake frontage, the property’s grounds offer “sunset views, oak trees, and two additional back lots for additional square footage, with room to build a guesthouse.”
The article says that inside, the 10,305-square-foot home features five bedrooms, as well as five full bathrooms and two half-baths. There’s also a bunk room, 900 square feet of veranda, and a finished basement.
