Arnolds Park, Iowa — So many traditional activities and gatherings have had to be cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but there is one event that has been a tradition for decades, that will take place next week in Arnolds Park.
Jon Pausley is Executive Director of the Okoboji Bible Conference, and he tells us the Conference WILL be held, beginning this Sunday!
(As above) “Our 86th Annual Okoboji Bible Conference starts this Sunday morning, August 2nd. We have our kickoff of 10:30 am worship at the Tabernacle in Arnolds Park. People coming can expect a week of hope-filled worship and hope-filled words of encouragement and learning. We often say that Okoboji Bible Conference is a very unique place to grow in your faith, and we want to just spread the love and the hope of Jesus to all that can come. So, we invite people to show up.”
Pausley says there is no registration or cost involved to attend some, or all, of the conference.
(As above) “One of the great things about the Conference is it’s open to anyone There’s no preregistration, there’s no fee to attend. For 86-years we’ve been running by the donations of people. So, we often say, ‘If you’re wondering if you fit here, you do!’ So please come.”
He says this year’s Okoboji Bible Conference WILL look a little different than it has in years past.
(As above) “Some of the changes…obviously with COVID we’ve put a lot of precautions in place to make sure that people are able to be socially distant with all of our seating. Normally we’re a nine-day conference, this year we’ve shortened it a few days. A lot of our concerts that we normally hold, that draw our biggest crowds, we had to move toward next year. But one concert we were able to keep is happening this Sunday night, August 2nd, but it’s happening down at the Green Space at Preservation Plaza in Arnolds Park. Sidewalk Prophets is going to be joining us for an outdoor concert. The weather looks like it’s gonna be great. This is the first live show that Sidewalk Prophets has played in quite a long time, so they’re excited to be here and share their message with us.”
Pausley invites everyone to come join them for the 86th Annual Okoboji Bible Conference.
(As above) “If you’ve ever had a year that you’ve thought about coming, you’re welcome to come. And this year, especially, because COVID really kicked us into the future with our technology, so we’re going to be livestreaming all our events from our website, okobojiconference.org. So if you’ve ever been curious about it, check out our website, check out a livestream, and then if you fell like, ‘Oh, that’s something I want to be a part of.’ come join us some night, you’re always welcome to be here. No charge to attend, no registration fees. For 86-years we’ve been running on the gifts of people. We believe that God’s going to sustain us again. So, come join us.”
