8th Graders Participate In History Day At Sheldon Middle School

Sheldon, Iowa — Last (Thursday) night was History Day for eighth graders at Sheldon Middle School.

Each student chose a topic in history and presented that topic to parents using boards, websites, and essays. There were 62 projects. Some topics included The Titanic, Jim Carrey, Michael Jackson, 9/11, Gunpowder, Microsoft, Nellie Blye, The Piano, and Jim Hensen and the Muppets. Each topic showed how each made history.

Parents then got to vote for different categories, such as the most creative. The winners of the voting will be presented with an award at the March Assembly.

On March 14th students who signed up will go to Orange City to Northwestern College to do Regional History Day. Judging begins at 9 a.m. and the awards ceremony will be at 3 p.m.
