A Record Number Of Students Set To Graduate During NCC’s Spring Commencement Exercises

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon’s community college will celebrate a record number of spring graduates this year.

Northwest Iowa Community College officials tell us their Spring 2024 Commencement Exercises are scheduled for next Friday, May 10, 2024. The college will celebrate the achievements of a record number of 294 spring graduates.

They tell us the day will begin with the Health Programs Commencement at 9:30 AM at the Lifelong Learning and Recreation Center (LLRC) on campus. This ceremony will also feature pinning ceremonies for Health program graduates. In addition, Larry Hoekstra will be honored with the Trustee Emeritus Distinction for his over twenty years of service on the NCC Board of Trustees. Mr. Hoekstra will also deliver the Commencement Address.

NCC officials tell us the afternoon ceremony for all other programs will commence at 1:30 PM at the same location. Mr. Hoekstra will once again take the podium as the keynote speaker. The event will also include the presentation of the Outstanding Student Leadership Award.

For those unable to attend in person, both ceremonies will be livestreamed on NCC’s YouTube site. They invite family, friends, and the community to join them in celebrating this milestone achievement for the graduates.
