Northwest Iowa — For the past several weeks we’ve been asking you to help provide a wonderful Christmas to area families who might not otherwise have much of a holiday. In O’Brien County we asked you to support the Adopt-A-Family program, and in Osceola County the Sharing Christmas program.
Both Christmas drives are organized by Upper Des Moines Opportunity. In O’Brien County, UDMO’s Brenda Collier says they had 106 O’Brien County families on their Adopt-A-Family list this year, a decrease from last year.
Collier says the one family that remains can be adopted by calling the UDMO office in Primghar.
As for the Osceola County Sharing Christmas program, Shari VanEngen of UDMO in Sibley says all 54 of the families on the Osceola County list were adopted.
VanEngen says the list had a couple more families than last year’s list.
Both Brenda Collier from O’Brien County Adopt-A-Family, and Shari VanEngen from Osceola County Sharing Christmas extend their heartfelt thanks to those who helped their neighbors have a merry Christmas.
