Aging Agency Offering Unique Ways To Combat Social Isolation

Spencer, Iowa — The agency that helps the elderly in northwest Iowa is offering some unique technology items to help seniors combat social isolation during the pandemic.

Stacia Timmer, the Chief Operations Officer for Elderbridge Agency on Aging tells us that they had to be creative in how they attempted to do that.

She says they are happy with the product.

Timmer tells us they do lease the GrandPads, but if you’re in one of their programs, you can use one while in the program.

They’re also offering another way to deal with isolation.

She says the fluffy “pets” serve a similar purpose as the GrandPads — to combat social isolation. But unlike the GrandPads, the Companion Pets become the user’s personal property and they don’t have to be returned.

She says if you’d like more information on either program, just call Elderbridge at 800-242-0678.
