UPDATE: Amber Alert — Royal, Iowa

UPDATE: At 9:35 p.m., the Clay County Sheriff’s Office reported that the children had been found safe in Sanborn:

The three reported missing children from the Clay County Amber Alert have been located and are safe at this time. The three children showed up at an address in Sanborn, Iowa, where they were abandoned. Officers from O’Brien County responded to the Sanborn home and stood by until Clay County authorities arrived. The Department of Human Services assisted in the placement of these children and took them to an undisclosed location. The mother of the children, Danica Arzaga, is still at large and we are seeking information as to her whereabouts, for questioning. She is believed to be still operating the Maroon 2003 Cadillac Sedan, 4 door, with Iowa license plate number 561-XEY.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations, Iowa State Patrol, State Fire Marshal, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Spencer Police Department, Department of Human Services, Sanborn Police Department, the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, and multiple Law Enforcement Agencies in Minnesota.

Chief Deputy Zach Larsen
Clay County Sheriff’s Office
