Sub-zero temperatures will settle into the region tonight. Despite relatively light winds, the cold temperatures and wind will combine to produce wind chills in the teens and 20s below zero tonight into Thursday morning.
If you or your pets need to spend any time outdoors, please be sure to protect against the bitter cold.
A strong winter storm is expected to impact the region Thursday night into Saturday with snow, possibly some ice, and strong winds. While there are still some unknowns with this system, confidence is growing that at least eastern parts of the region could see a period of moderate to heavy snow on Friday, and most of the region will see strong winds, both while the snow is falling Friday, and after the snow tapers off Saturday. If you have travel plans late this week, be sure to monitor the forecast for the latest updates.
