Boer To Retire At Sibley-Ocheyedan; Search Firm Chosen

Sibley, Iowa — The superintendent of the Sibley-Ocheyedan Community School District has announced his pending retirement, and has released the details of the School Board’s plan to search for his replacement.

Bill Boer says he has served in education for several years.

Boer says he’s not sure exactly what he’s going to do after retirement, but just slowing down and taking it easy is not in the immediate plan.

According to Boer, the Sibley-Ocheyedan School Board has chosen a search firm to help select his replacement.

According to Boer, he plans to continue living in Sibley for the foreseeable future.

He thanks everyone for their support.

Boer tells us his retirement will be effective at the end of this fiscal year — on June 30th. He says the board hopes to have someone hired for the position in the next two to two-and-a-half months.
