Celebrate April — Volunteer Month — By Volunteering

Sheldon, Iowa — We are told that April is National Volunteer Month. We at KIWA celebrate and thank all those that volunteer in their community.

One of the entities that uses volunteers in Sheldon is RiseFest and Rise Ministries. Founder and President of Rise Ministries Rob Roozeboom tells us they just couldn’t put on the annual Christian music festival without volunteers.

He tells us how you can volunteer for RiseFest.

Of course, there are several other opportunities to volunteer in your community. Opportunities include those in churches, nursing homes, hospitals, kids’ sports programs, service clubs, picking up trash, beautifying your community, volunteering to serve on community boards and committees, giving blood, or even donating your organs — just to name a few. Thank you to all the volunteers that make living in northwest Iowa not only possible, but a pleasure.
