Graettinger, Iowa — Officials with Upper Des Moines Opportunity headquarters in Graettinger tell us some of their program eligibility guidelines will soon be changing.
Upper Des Moines is a community outreach agency serving low-income people in a 12-county area that includes O’Brien and Osceola counties. Their CEO, Jamey Whitney, says the change has to do with the CARES Act.
But Whitney says that’s about to change, due to federal law.
Whitney says Upper Des Moines does still have funding available, but the recipients will now have to have an income of 125 percent of the poverty level or below. He says if you have any questions, call your local office or the main office in Graettinger. The Primghar office number is (712) 957-1023 and the Sibley office number is (712) 754-2573.
A similar community outreach agency serves the other two counties in our area — Lyon and Sioux counties, along with three others. The Rock Rapids office number is (712) 472-3746 and the Sioux Center office number is (712) 722-3611.
