Construction Continues At Boyden-Hull

Hull, Iowa — The first phase of construction continues at the Boyden-Hull Junior/Senior High School in Hull.

Boyden-Hull Superintendent Steve Grond tells us about it.

Hoogendoorn Construction of Canton, SD is the general contractor.

Grond tells us what phase one consists of.

Grond says the second phase will be mainly remodeling and will start around May 1st. The projected completion date is over a year later, in September of 2020.

He tells us that there will also be some work on the elementary campus in Boyden, including enhancing the playground and some smaller safety and security updates, which they hope to complete this summer.

Funding for the project comes mainly from a $9.85 million school bond, approved in February 2018. He says other funding comes from Local Option Sales Tax and voted PPEL (Physical Plant and Equipment Levy) dollars as well.

Grond says he thinks it will be a great enhancement to the educational experience at Boyden-Hull, and he says the layout will mesh better with the programs that they offer.
