Doon Man Headed To Club Fed For Child Pornography

Doon, Iowa — A Doon man has been sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison for distributing child pornography.

According to a release from the United States Attorney’s Office , 46-year-old Diego Felipe Juan, who is originally from Guatemala, but now lives in Doon was sentenced in Federal District Court in Sioux City Tuesday, after pleading guilty to the crime this past December.

In a plea agreement, Juan admitted that between November of 2018 and January 18, 2019, using the internet, he knowingly distributed a visual depiction of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct to another person. It was revealed at the sentencing hearing that Juan had other videos of child pornography on his cell phone.

U.S. District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand sentenced Juan to 87-months imprisonment, plus 5-years supervised release after he completes the prison term. There is no parole in the federal system.

According to authorities, Juan is being held in the custody of the United States Marshal Service until he can be transported to a federal prison.
